Cooking Italian Style Rice

Boiling rice is harder than it looks. Often the finished product is sticky or "gluey." Here's a sure-fire way to produce our Italian Style Rice that's light and fluffy.

  1. Rinse the rice in water to get rid of excess starch.
  2. For every cup of rice, add 1 1/2 cups of water.
  3. Bring the rice to boil, uncovered, at medium heat.
  4. When boiling, turn the heat down to medium low.
  5. Let the rice cook until cooked through or until desired texture is achived.

Cooking Arborio Rice

Due to the process required to achieve a delicate and creamy texture, the cooking method for Arborio Rice is slightly different than that of Italian Style Rice. Although it only requires approximately 20 minutes to cook, the constant attention that it requires may make the cooking time seem much longer.
